Based on our famous Miklat and Patrol packs, the Huntaway was designed with simplicity, functionality and durability in mind. We incorporated the K.I.S.S. model during design and built this pack to withstand the harsh environment of the New Zealand back country, constructed from our tried and true 12oz C-Canvas combined with minimal seams for increased water resistance and strength, this no-nonsense workhorse will go the distance where others fail.
"The degree of materials and workmanship is to a standard unmatched"

Versatile strong packReview by Dan
Needed a smaller pack for overnight bashes or a weekend at a pinch. The extendable top is great if you need to pack a bit more gear, or need space for meat that jumps in on the way. The Cactus scabbard fits really well to this bag too using using the aluminium side buckles which are really heavy duty. There’s minimal webbing and apart from a pocket each side there’s nothing much to catch on things in the bush or whip around in the wind. It’s showerproof but you still need to use a liner or dry bags to keep your gear dry if it’s hammering down. Yes this bag is not cheap but it’s high quality and very solid and hasn’t let me down. My favourite pack for most adventuresReview by Eric
Brilliant pack and my favourite for most adventures. It regularly hauls 30Kgs of venison out of the hills along with bivy gear, gets taken on tramps, goes ski touring and climbing. It’s even known to cart awkward bits of gear round the hills on occasions. None of this has phased it, still looks new despite doing some hard yards! (Posted on 20/05/19)
Cactus in France Review by Vincent
After 1 year in Aotearoa, I've decided to introduce Cactus in France with a real good backpack. It took 3 working days for 19 000 kms !

Good stuff !

Does what its made to do...Review by Rob
Walked the Te Araroa trail with this pack. Was used and worn all day, every day for 116 days.
It did was it was made to do. Used for everything from day trips through to 10 days (with supplies) walking around Stewart island.
Only cons -
-Drink bottles dont fit in the side pockets.
-Needs a port for the hose from the drink bladder.
Apart from that. I can't fault the pack. If there were more negative points to this pack. I would have found them by now!
Highly recommended! (Posted on 3/09/18)
